Building Genuine Connections: A Guide to Being Liked by People

Every individual desires to be liked by others. While it might not be possible for everyone to like you, building strong, positive relationships starts with self-love, confidence, and authenticity. This article explores practical steps and tips for enhancing likability and fostering genuine connections.

The Concept of Likability

When asked who is liked by everyone, the answer is simple: no one. There will always be individuals who dislike you for various reasons. However, if the goal is to increase likability, the process is straightforward. Living in diverse environments and interacting with people worldwide, I've found that adopting certain practices can make most people like you almost immediately.

The Power of Being Authentic

Be Yourself. Emulating others rarely succeeds. The mask you wear will inevitably slip, revealing your true personality. Authenticity is a key trait that many people admire. People appreciate confidence and self-assurance, which are often rare qualities.

Practicing Self-Love

Practice Self-Love. Taking time for yourself and tending to your mental well-being can enhance your overall demeanor and make you appear more stable. Many mistake the need to constantly please others for gaining likability. In reality, focusing on personal enrichment rather than merely pleasing others is a better approach.

Avoiding Manipulation

Does your sole goal in social interactions revolve around making others like you? If so, you might not succeed. A shift in my own approach, from aiming to be liked to focusing on personal growth and interests, has proven to be more successful. Instead of doing everything for someone else, focus on learning new things and sharing your passions with others. This way, you become interesting in and of yourself.

Examples of Effective Likability Techniques

Three impactful methods for becoming more likable are:

Be Yourself: Instead of trying to be someone you're not, embrace your unique identity. Authenticity is highly attractive. Practice Self-Love: Prioritize your own needs and happiness. This can make you appear more stable and grounded. Avoid Manipulative Behavior: Don't make your goal solely to be liked. Instead, work on personal growth and interests. People will be drawn to your genuine self.

Your relationships with others begin with how you perceive and interact with yourself. This is something that cannot be easily copied from others.

Personal Experience: Overcoming Weak Will and Prioritizing Health

I once approached everyone as if they were friends, often disregarding my own needs to accommodate others. This led to a stomach ulcer and a psychological mid-life crisis, which taught me the importance of saying "NO." This experience resulted in a significant change in my early 30s, leading to 40 years without any major health issues. Additionally, these life experiences enriched my astrology practices and researches. When we are sick, we are forced to prioritize our own needs, which can lead to positive changes in our lives.
