Can I Link My YouTube Channel to a New AdSense Account After an Old One is Suspended?

AdSense publishers who have had an account disabled for either policy or invalid traffic reasons and who haven’t been able to successfully appeal the disablement are no longer allowed participation in the AdSense Program. Once disabled, you are banned from the use of AdSense for life. This also applies to the creation of new AdSense accounts and linking a third party’s AdSense account to your channel.

Why AdSense Accounts are Suspended

AdSense accounts are suspended for valid reasons, primarily due to major policy violations or engagement with invalid traffic. Google closely monitors AdSense users and has stringent measures in place to curb fraudulent activities. Once an account is disabled, it is not possible to start over with a new account, as Google does not allow users who have been suspended to participate in the AdSense Program again. This strict policy ensures that the program remains fair and secure for all involved.

Linking YouTube Channel to an AdSense Account

Linking an AdSense account to a YouTube channel is a straightforward process, even if your current AdSense account has been suspended. Here’s how you can do it:

Head over to YouTube.

Click on Your account icon and then click on Creator Studio.

On the left, you will find the Channel dropdown. Click on it.

In the Channel options, you will find the Monetize option. You need to enable it.

In the next screen, you will be asked to use an existing account or create one. Since your YouTube channel and approved AdSense account are on different Google ID’s, go ahead and click on the existing account and sign in with your Google ID that has an approved AdSense account.

Your YouTube channel will be reviewed, and you will receive a confirmation email whether or not your application is approved.

Note: Be sure to follow best practices for a sure approval.

Be aware that you cannot open a new AdSense account if your current one has been suspended due to invalid traffic or policy violations. Google will inevitably detect such behavior, leading to a permanent ban from the AdSense program.

Conclusion

If your AdSense account has been disabled it's for a good reason, and it's to protect the integrity of the AdSense program. Google takes fraud very seriously and has the necessary means to detect newly created accounts. If your account has been disabled, the appropriate course of action is to work towards resolving the issues that led to the suspension before attempting to rejoin the program.
