How to Complete KYC Verification in Paytm
If you are a new user or want to enhance your account security on Paytm, you will need to complete the KYC (Know Your Customer) verification process. This guide will walk you through the steps to complete KYC verification on the platform. Let’s get started!
Step 1: Launch the Paytm App
Begin by launching the Paytm app on your mobile device. Ensure that you have an active internet connection as it will be required to initiate the verification process.
Step 2: Access Your Profile
Navigate to your profile by tapping on the profile icon or your name displayed at the top of the screen.
Step 3: Initiate KYC Verification
Inside your profile, look for the 'KYC' option. This is typically found in the settings or account management section. Tap on it to start the verification process.
Step 4: Choose Verification Method
Paytm offers two main methods for KYC verification:
Aadhaar-based KYC: If you have an Aadhaar card, you can opt for this method. Ensure that your mobile number is linked to your Aadhaar for a smoother experience. Video KYC: For those without an Aadhaar card or those who prefer not to use it, the video KYC method is available. During this process, you will have a live video call with a Paytm representative to verify your identity.Step 5: Provide Necessary Information
Depending on the method you choose, you may be asked to provide some personal details. These might include your name, address, and other necessary identification information. Ensure the information you provide is accurate and up-to-date to avoid any delays.
Step 6: Upload Required Documents
If you opt for the Aadhaar-based KYC method, make sure to upload a scanned copy of your Aadhaar card. If using the video KYC, you will also need to provide scanned copies of other identification documents such as a PAN card, passport, etc.
Step 7: Complete the Process
For the Aadhaar-based KYC, you will be sent an OTP to your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP correctly to continue. For the video KYC, simply follow the instructions given during the call.
Step 8: Confirm the Status
After submitting your information and documents, you will receive a confirmation regarding the status of your KYC. Note that it may take some time for Paytm to process your application. Patience is key during this period.
Important Notes:
Make sure you have all the necessary documents ready before starting the process. Ensure your internet connection is stable during the entire process.
