The Art of Fulfillment: A Writer's Journey and Life Reflection
As someone who loves to write, the journey of completing a novel has been a long and arduous one. In this article, I will share my personal insights and reflections on the fulfillment derived from finishing a piece of work. Also, I will explore how a simple day, filled with mundane activities, can still be fulfilling.
The Gratification of Completion
For years, the first chapter of my novel has been a work in progress. Today, I can finally declare that it is completed! Technically, I could release it right away, with a cover ready.
However, before making it public, I wanted it to be read by someone – my friend – to gauge its quality. The excitement of sharing my work comes not from the number of readers, but from the act of creation itself.
Unconditional Fulfillment
Some might ask, 'Are you excited to release it?' I am not sure. The only thing I am sure about is that it is finished. That is all that truly matters. I am not overly concerned with the number of readers; I am driven by the dream of creating something meaningful and fulfilling my past dreams.
Quality Over Quantity
While three people have asked me about my day today, I am restricting myself to answering questions from only three people per day. It is both a challenge and a reflection on my desire to balance quality over quantity. It's a reminder that sometimes, the beauty of a thing is in the process of its creation.
The Bromance of Life
Today was a simple day. I spent the morning cuddling with my wife, did some grocery shopping, and even bought some ammo from a large gun store. Afterward, we went to a nearby restaurant for some chips, cheese dip, and salsa. It sounds like a normal day, but for me, it was a significant accomplishment.
At this point in life, having a "do-nothing" day can be as fulfilling as completing a home remodel project. The joy of the moment, the contentment of being with someone you love, and the satisfaction of marking a day as meaningful – these are the true treasures of life.
The Ups and Downs of Life
While today was a good day, life is a series of ups and downs. Making money was a positive experience, but seeing a reflection of pretentiousness and smugness in myself brought a down. Fending off the effects of the sun was another challenge, but winning a small bet was a high point.
The piece de resistance, however, was missing a close friend and still feeling the same about another friend. This alone stage has brought a sense of solitude and reflection. It serves as a reminder of the importance of lifelong friendships and the impact they have on our lives.
Despite these moments, the days like today are precious. They remind us that life is a journey filled with both highs and lows, but it is the fulfillment we derive from these moments that make it worthwhile.
